Red Wagon Farm, operated by Amy Tisdale and Wyatt Barnes since 2004, is a local and sustainable farm with two locations in Boulder County, one in east Boulder at Thomas Open Space in Lafayette and the other near Niwot. The farm is committed to growing local food for local people, ensuring the freshest produce for its Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) members, seasonal farm stand customers in Lafayette, and local restaurants. Red Wagon Farm emphasizes the importance of supporting a local food system to reduce dependency on vegetables grown far away, minimizing transportation energy costs. Amy and Wyatt prioritize taste, exploring unusual varieties alongside mainstream standards, and conducting trials each season to discover vegetables with superior flavor.
